Ashley and Will wanted their day to be a quintessential DC wedding that incorporated their favorite things into the day for others to enjoy. Ashley and Will chose to highlight bold fall colors with feminine light touches to brighten the room at St. Francis Hall. Their elevated centerpieces were mixed in with low centerpieces to allow for easier conversation flow so guests from across the country could all get to know one another. Their floral choices flowed seamlessly with their overall color story; peonies, freesias, Calla Lilies, sweet William (“an ode to my groom!”) filled the centerpieces in bold pinks, purples and whites.
To infuse their personal tastes into the day, Ashley and Will hosted not only a hot chocolate bar (with chocolate stirring spoons and flavored syrups) but also hired Captain Cookie and the Milkman food truck to surprise their guests. In lieu of a traditional late night snack, guests munched on cookies and milk and massive ice cream cookie sandwiches! It made for a super sweet ending to the night.
Their three tiered wedding cake by Fluffy Thoughts was also a stunner! It featured some of DC’s most iconic landmarks and the couple’s monogram in gold. The Bachelor Boys Band got everyone up and on the dance floor and kept it packed throughout the night following an emotional a rehearsed first dance between the bride and groom – one of the couple’s favorite moments from the day!
