Dark & Moody Winter Wedding Inspiration

Guys, we were doing REALLY well with posting blogs over the summer. We were motivated, excited, and posting multiple a month. And then... well, we got super busy! Our fall saw 9 wedding weekends in a row with only 1 weekend off. And then, right after our last wedding of the season it was suddenly Thanksgiving and then suddenly Christmas and the suddenly 2020! Where did the time go?! Anyway, we're back at it and excited to dive into on of our goals for the new year: blogging more. We want to showcase what we did in 2019! It was a banner year. We planned some pretty freaking cool weddings and met some amazing new vendors that we can't wait to share with you all. Plus we'll sprinkle in some oldies but goodies: styled shoots, advice posts, and collaborations that we participated in throughout the year. We're kicking it off with a great one; this one might not be from 2019 but hey, it's still SO good. You can also see the full feature on Green Wedding Shoes!

This wedding inspiration was born out of a desire for contrast. Our intention with this shoot was to combine dark, moody colors and the bright white snow up in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. The Snoqualmie Pass area about an hour outside of Seattle, WA seemed like the perfect spot to host this shoot. Black and deep burgundy tones set the stage for the moody aesthetic while the bride twirls in the glistening snow. Her killer two piece gown (take a peek at the sultry mesh body suit!) by Sweet Caroline is totally unique and edgy. And when it's paired with a floral embroidered leather jacket that pairs perfectly with her moody blooms, we can't get enough!

Don't miss the circular backdrop behind Northwest Vintage Rentals eye catching burgundy couch. Why sit in boring old chairs when you can sit on what feels like a giant throne?! The tablescape decor from Balancing Balloons and paper goods and calligraphy from RJ Calligraphy Co. are to die for. Don't miss the scroll place cards or the adorable menu booklets at each setting! Petal + Vine's moody florals tie everything on the table together to create a dark, rich tableau. And fun note: the bride in this shoot is not only a real Willow & Ivy Events bride, but is also the florist! Breanna Marie Photography captured every sweet moment between this real life couple in addition to the perfectly designed table.
